A regulation pickleball court is 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for the playing surface, with a recommended total fenced area of at least 30 feet by 60 feet to allow safe runoff and movement around the court.
Same dimensions for both singles and doubles play.
Total fenced area with safe runoff space (1,800 sq ft).
Premium build with extra runoff for full-extension shots.
The net runs across the middle at 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center. If you’re working with tighter space, painted-line installs on existing concrete can fit pickleball striping into smaller footprints — we’ve added pickleball lines to driveways as small as 24×50 ft.
Three ways to build a pickleball court in Louisiana — each suited to different budgets, uses, and lifespans.
Pickleball lines painted on an existing or new concrete slab. Quick to install, multi-sport friendly, lowest investment.

Common questions about pickleball court installation in South Louisiana.
The cost depends on the surface type, court size, site preparation requirements, and accessories like fencing and lighting. Painted-line installs on existing concrete are the most affordable path; modular tile is the mid-range option; acrylic-on-concrete is the premium tier. A regulation pickleball court is 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for the playing surface. We recommend a total fenced footprint of at least 30×60 feet (1,800 sq ft) for safe runoff. For more on backyard planning, see our backyard pickleball court guide.
Most pickleball court installations take 2 to 6 weeks from contract to first play, depending on surface type and site complexity. Painted-line installs on existing concrete can be completed in days. Full acrylic-on-concrete builds with site prep, drainage, and fencing typically take 4–6 weeks.
For South Louisiana’s combination of heat, humidity, and rainfall, acrylic-on-concrete is the most durable long-term surface for serious pickleball play. Modular tile is another option which is mosty used over a surface which is heavily cracked . Painted lines on existing concrete remain a reliable, budget-friendly path. Compare all three surface options here.
Yes. A standard tennis court can be converted to up to four pickleball courts with overlay striping, or to a single dedicated pickleball court with re-striping. Conversions are typically faster and less expensive than building a new court from scratch. Read our full tennis-to-pickleball conversion guide.
Yes — commercial installations are a core part of our business. We’ve built pickleball facilities for schools (including the University of Louisiana Lafayette), churches, community organizations, and public parks across South Louisiana. See our pickleball court gallery for recent project examples, or contact us to discuss a commercial build.
